Lagos, 3rd April, 2009Like every good thing that has a
beginning, Etisalat Nigerian’s valentine promo tagged “9javaganza” has
come to an end with a clamour for extension of the promo by subscribers
who had enjoyed free airtime and more talk time for the past two months.
Etisalat’s ‘9javaganza Valentine Promo’ kicked off on Monday, 2nd
February and came to an end on the 31st of March 2009. The two month
promo was open to both new and existing customers of the dynamic
telecoms company.
The 3-in-1 promotional package offered new subscribers to the network
N200 free credit on activation (same value as the cost of the SIM), 20%
discount for every recharge worth N500 and above and a further 20%
discount on all calls made from the subscriber’s home zone. The promo
helped to add value to Etisalat customers’ and allowed them to better
stay in touch during the valentine season.
In feedback monitored across the nation, subscribers expressed their
excitement on the free SIMs and airtime enjoyed on Etisalat’s network in
the last two months and called for the extension of the promotion. Annie
Erabhor, a student of the Rivers State University of Science and
Technology puts it succinctly when she said, “Please tell Etisalat to
extend the 9javaganza promotion, I bought two SIMs for my younger
brothers during the valentine season and it was quite exciting to know
that I didn’t have to buy credit along with the SIMs”.
According to Bola Ojelade, a resident of Ibadan, “Etisalat showed us its
readiness for this market with the promo. You know, before, we pay for
every call made on GSM. I won’t deny that I used the opportunity of the
promo to talk more, infact I made a lot of calls on the valentine day to
all my loved ones. Etisalat should do another promo, I feel them”.
For Isah Muhammed a social worker who lives in Kaduna, “Please inform
Etisalat to extend the promotion, the two month period of the promotion
allowed me to make more calls. If the company continues like this, they
will overtake others in no time”.
Adeolu Hastrup, a youth corps member posted to Lagos said, “I bought
Etisalat SIM at the orientation camp and to my surprise it was credited
with N200 free airtime on activation. Etisalat should extend the promo
so that I can buy more SIMs for my buddies once I collect my NYSC
allowance”
Commenting on the feedback, Chief Marketing Officer of Etisalat Nigeria,
Wael Ammar, said “we appreciate the overwhelmingly positive response of
our subscribers to this promotion. It reflects their love for the brand
and it surely gives us the impetus to do even more because our
subscribers remain the core of our business in Etisalat”.
