Etisalat wins big at LAIF Awards
Lagos November 3, 2011: Nigeria telecommunications giant, Etisalat, has won the gold award for Best Radio Commercial in the telecommunications and product services at the Lagos Advertising International Festival (LAIF) Awards held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos last weekend.

Apart from ‘Say hello’ Radio Commercial that won gold award at the festival, the innovative company, also carted away the silver and bronze awards with ‘Easy Life’ and Smart Girl’ Commercials respectively, all creative works of the telco’s advertising agency, 141 Worldwide.

Etisalat also won silver award with its ‘Real Connecting People’ creative work by STB Mc-Cann for Adverts That Never Ran in the outdoor category and additional two bronze awards for ‘Easy Life ’ and ‘Easy Net’ in the TV and Press commercials for telecoms products and services category respectively, all of which are still creative works from 141 Worldwide.

Etisalat’s Director, Brands and Communication, Enitan Denloye, while receiving the awards said that Etisalat is best known for its innovative nature which has earned them the most innovative telecommunications company in Nigeria.

According to him, “Our innovative nature has rubbed off on the advertising materials produced by our agencies. I dedicate these awards to the company’s leadership and the hard work of other members of staff, and I also thank the organizers of this ceremony for recognizing the quality of what we do”.

Rafiu Ladipo, President, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), organisers of the award, while congratulating recipients of the awards, said, “the award is about celebrating creativity and it is important to do so because creativity is what LAIF is all about.”

The Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) Awards, initiated in year 2005, is an international status awards ceremony that competes favourably with global practices with the sole aim of launching Nigeria's creative potential in the international circle, recognizes marketing communications excellence and encourages advertising practitioners in Nigeria to reach greater heights in the development of strong and original ideas, as well as execution of such ideas in line with global best practice.
