Easylife 2.0 FAQs

1. What is new on Easylife 2?

Easylife 2 is the revamped version of easy life 1 on etisalat network.
In addition to the lower national call rate at a given daily fee, easy starter and easy cliq customers can now enjoy daily free SMS and discount on international calls effective from March 21, 2011.

2. How is easylife 2 different from easylife 1?

Easylife 2 is similar to easylife 1 in terms of product offering. The two offers grant lower national call rate at an affordable daily access fee.
Upon subscription into easylife 1, 25k/s national call rate at a daily fee of N20 apply while 20k/s national call rate at a daily fee of N25 apply upon subscription into easy life 2. The national call rates are applicable during peak and off-peak periods only in both cases.
However, additional benefits on easy life 2 include 20 daily free SMS and 20k/s call rate to the USA, Canada, China, India and UK fixed.
Calls made at mid-night are not affected by subscription into easy life 2. Easy starter subscribers are still able to enjoy 10 k/s to all etisalat lines during mid-night while easy cliq subscribers still enjoy free night call at mid-night as usual provided the required conditions are met.

3. Who can benefit from this proposition?

Customers on easy starter, 0809Uchoose, Handset bundles and easy cliq can enjoy this indomitable proposition.
However, like easy life 1, easy life 2 is not available to customers on enuff yarn+, eliteworld (prepaid and postpaid)

4. How do I get the daily free SMS?

Upon subscription into easylife 2, you are charged a subscription fee of N25 and 20 free SMS is credited to your SMS account instantly.
Also, you will receive 20 free SMS daily upon successful renewal of your daily fee.

5. Can I send the SMS to any network?

You can send the SMS to any etisalat number.
The daily free SMS cannot be sent to other networks (national and international). In other words, SMS sent to other networks will be charged at the normal rate.

6. For how long can I use the SMS?

The daily free SMS is available for the day it is granted. That is, any daily free SMS granted in a day will expire by the end of that day (11:59pm). Therefore, any unused SMS in a day cannot be carried over to the following day.
However, upon successful renewal of daily fee by midnight, another 20 daily free SMS will be granted.

7. How do I know that I have daily free SMS?

Simply dial *264#, you will receive a notification about the number of free SMS you have in your account.

8. How do I get discount on International calls

Just subscribe to the easylife 2 plan and start making calls to international destinations at 20k/s.
However, 20k/s is applicable on calls to USA, Canada, China, India and UK(fixed) only throughout the day (i.e. during peak, off-peak and night periods).
Calls to other international destinations are charged at the default rate.
Note that once you opt-out of easylife 2, you start calling at default rates to both USA, Canada, China, India and UK (fixed).

9. How can I opt into easylife 2?

To benefit from easylife 2, you need to subscribe by dialing *320*1#.
You will then receive a notification confirming the success or failure of your subscription.
You can confirm whether you have opted into the plan or not by dialing *320#.
To unsubscribe from easylife 2, dial *320*2#.

10. Is there any subscription fee?

Yes. Once you successfully opt into easylife 2, a daily fee of N25 will be deducted from your account.
The daily fee is automatically renewed by 12 mid-night every day.
The subscription will fail if there is not enough balance in your line to pay for the daily fee.
Also, the automatic daily fee renewal will fail if there is insufficient balance to pay the daily fee.
In a case where there is insufficient balance for the auto-renewal, no deduction of daily fee will be made and no daily free SMS will be granted until subscriber has his account balance above the daily fee amount (either by recharging or receiving balance transfer). However, with the insufficient balance, subscriber can still make use of the available balance but no discount will be applicable on calls made with such balance.
Example, for a customer on easy starter, assuming the daily fee is N25; if there is a balance of N24 in the customer’s account as at the time of auto-renewal, auto renewal will fail. However, calls can still be made with the balance of N24 but default rate of easy starter will apply (i.e. 50k/s on national calls and 55k/s on calls to USA, Canada, China, India and UK fixed ).
In a case where you do not use your line for a number of days (say 7 days), the daily fee will be automatically deducted as long as you have enough balance on your line. However, if there is insufficient balance on your line for the 7 days period and you decide to recharge on the 8th day, only the daily fee for the 8th day will be deducted upon recharge.

11. How will my subscription to easylife 2 affect the current benefits I enjoy on my line; like You and Me, Bonus on incoming calls, Unlimited SMS etc?

Your subscription to easylife 2 has no negative effect on your current services. Easylife 2 offers you additional benefits of reduced call rates and daily free SMS.

12. If I subscribe to easylife 2, what happens to my home zone?

Subscription into easylife 2 does not affect your home zone.
For calls made from Home zone location, the cheaper rate between home zone and easylife 2 is applicable.

13. If I accept Receiver Pays call after opting into easylife 2, how much will I be charged?

You will be charged the normal Receiver Pays rate of 50k/s.
The same applies to Talk n Share calls.

Easylife 2 versus Other Opt-in Services

14. How does easy life 2 affect other opt-in services like easy life 1, Cliq 4 d day, homezone subscription and swift storm?

Apart from easylife 1, all other opt-in services can co-exist with easylife 2. i.e. customer can benefit from easylife 2 and any of the other opt-in services concurrently.
easylife 2 and easylife 1 are two independent services available for both easy starter and easy cliq subscribers.
You can opt into any of the two at any time but you cannot be on both easylife 1 and easy life 2 simultaneously. However, if you are already on a plan and decide to opt into the other, you automatically lose the previous plan upon successful subscription into the other plan. For instance, you are on easy life 1 and decide to opt-into easy life 2 without opting out of easy life 1, the subscription will be successful and you lose easylife 1 for easylife 2.

15. Does it mean that I can still subscribe to easylife 1 if I want?

Yes, you can opt into easy life 1 and enjoy the benefit of easylife 1.

16. Can I enjoy easylife 2 benefits in addition to the benefit of other opt-in services at the same time?

Yes, but note that if you subscribe to easylife 2 and another opt-in service like cliq 4 d day, you will be charged the daily fee for the two and the lower rate of the two will be applicable when making calls.
Example, if you are on easylife 2 and you subscribe to cliq 4 d day, you will be charged the daily fee for the two (i.e. N25 + N5 = N30).
