Airtime Transfer FAQs

A major characteristic of the  GSM market is the concept of sharing airtime credit
Currently, to send airtime to another person, a GSM user has to procure a fresh recharge card and send the PIN to the recipient. This is irrespective of the fact that he may have a large credit balance on his own account.

Airtime Transfer is a feature that will allow subscribers on the prepaid platform to electronically transfer airtime from the existing credit in their prepaid account to another prepaid account.
The code is *223*PIN*Amount*MSISDN#
Airtime Transfer allows you to transfer part or all of the balance airtime in your prepaid account to another prepaid account without burdening yourself with an immediate expense.

It is convenient, as you do not have to go and look for a recharge card and type in the 14 digit secret recharge PIN number before sending to the recipient It is flexible, as you are not constrained by the fixed denominations of recharge cards. You can transfer any amount It is secure, as the transfer transaction is PIN protected.
For all Airtime Transfer transactions, the following is performed.
PIN code authentication- you must secure your PIN.

Check of the credit and account status.

Confirmation requested from the initiator of the transaction before performing the transaction.

Notification of transaction to both parties: USSD and SMS message to the sender and receiver respectively.
On the back of your phone, remove your battery pack and identify the metal contacts in the phone that should align with the metal contacts on the back of your SIM card.

Align the SIM card notch with that of the phone SIM slot and insert the card.

If your SIM is inserted correctly, you will not be able to see the metal contacts after inserting the card.

Replace the battery pack and battery cover, then turn on the phone.

If your SIM was installed properly, you will be able to begin making calls.
In case the customer forgets his password or the SIM is locked due to entry of wrong password several times, such customers should call customer care.

Authorized customer care representative will reset the PIN to the default after the customer has been duly authenticated as the correct owner of the account for which request is being made, following the present customer authentication process. The customer can change the PIN code after the reset action to maintain confidentiality.
